IDK is there anything simpler? The sweep seems like it could be prone to failure. Is there any technique that you can do from there that will only disarm the attacker? I would think if you have a gun he won't mess with you.

From an early age you are pointing at things saying I want this I want that. This is a response time that we already have. This is know different. if you know Krav Maga at all disarms are put together as simple as they can be. This is not a lot of movement. You gain from 1 to 2 feet of distance just by sitting back on your heels.
