I was already a believer that SJ could win the Derby by that time (I'm dead serious about that also). I had been following his progress since his insane 2nd start where he got a 105 Beyer when he was 2. The only question was could Servis get SJ to learn to settle and allow the rider to tell him when to go. He was still not all the way there in this race,but by Derby day SJ was the a loaded gun. He is the best horse I've seen in awhile, I'll never forget him.

After this race, it was decided that Smarty's sire and dam (Elusive Quality, I'll Get Along) would mate again. I don't what happened to that foal, but he/she is now a 2 year old. If anyone has further info, I would appreciate it.
