We Brits must remember the brave Soviet soliders and we must give thanks to them for saving Britain from further threat of invasion by holding them into stalemate.

You don't know that. US and Soviet populations were comparable after WWII. It could go either way...

Also by the time U.S entered the war the German army lost most of the military units, armor, planes and tanks. What U.S faced was reserves and old men.
