It shows how Bilbo got the ring fromt he golum , how he acquired Sting ( his sword) and how he and Gandalf became friends. It doesnt involve anything from the LOTR movies and books aside from a few characters and items.

I have checked peter jackson on IMDB website and saw his workign on the hobbit 2012. And why was there an ring at the end? This movie just seems like another story about the lotrs in the hobbits perspective ??
