OK.........I have had a few requests to see my longnose gar so here he is.
I have learned so much by watching the feeding habits of this little guy and has helped me understand the species better. I am working on a bigger tank for him because he is almost 17 inches long now.

  • He is a very lazy fish!

  • I Have 2 Florida Gars

and They were dropped Color , for the 1st week . look very very white , but now they are dark ;) is that ur new fish ?

    ?

  • I have now had that fish for 2 years. He is now nearly 20 inches and in need of a new tank. It is very common for your gar to change color from day to day even by mood or color of your gravel. I put sand in mine because gar like to put their nose into the sand and dig. That is a neat habit to watch. I now have a couple other fish in the tank with him and they do wel together.

  • thats cool

  • Nice looking gar! I had one, but now I have a rtc/tsn hybrid, florida gar and sun catfish. They get along great in my 125!

  • I have an Alligator Gar and it is quickly outgrowing my 30gallon and my friend is selling me his old 125gallon setup.

  • lol talk about the odd couple living together, all the other fish trying to stay as far as possible fro the gar.
