ER1 Initiative, Georgia Tech Industrial Design, Studio, Fall 2007

This is the compilation video from our ER1 studio sponsored by HKS Architects and ER One for the Washington Hospital Center. We were tasked to create an entranceway that could control the flow of pedestrians, and provide threat mitigation and/or decontamination as necessary. This project was a collaboration between Camilo Vargas, Ritesh Rathi, Doria Kung, and myself Jon Jowers.

The project started with simple mock-up scenarios, where we acted out several characters and their experiences with the potential entrance portal. This gave us insight into potential confusion and needs that may arise during a crisis.

The final 3D model fly-through is based on several screenshots provided to us by HKS. The entranceway was modeled in 3D Studio MAX by Camilo Vargas, with post processing and chroma-key in Adobe After Effects by Camilo and myself.

Unfortunately the video and audio sync is slightly off for a bit, and our green screen skills were novice at best, but enjoy anyway.
