Former Soviet Russia - which by the way does still exist, just no longer communist ;-), persecuted and oppressed people because of the nature of the government and those in power, not because a set of ideals that promote the philosophy that some of the most basic human needs are a right that all people should have. I don't see how this is relevant to the current health care debate, because we already have government run (*gasp* socialized medicine) in place. It's called Medicare.
