Egyptian Music to Play Snake By

This video is NOT for standard viewing (you are welcome to do so if you like, but it may be rather boring); this is a playing surface for YouTube's game of "snake."

The following instructions apply ONLY when operating this video on YouTube, and WILL NOT WORK on the Embeddable Player that links to other websites.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SNAKE:

(1) Pause the video, and reset the timer to 0:00.

(2) Simultaneously press the "up" and "left" arrows on your computer keyboard, or hold the "left" arrow while pressing the "up" arrow. This should activate a moving string of dots (hereafter referred to as the "snake"), and a single dot elsewhere on the screen (the "egg").

(3) For a "snake-charming" experience, release the pause control to play back the video (this step may be omitted if you wish to play snake a cappella).

(4) Maneuver the snake with the arrow buttons, to consume the egg; this will increase the length of the snake (the only scoring system in the game), and place a new egg in a different location on the board. If there is more than one player, it is a good idea to keep score by using a scratch pad to add a tally mark with the consumption of each egg.

(5) Avoid hitting the video screen edges, or turning the snake in upon itself (as in a spiral trap); doing either one of these will terminate the snake.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

(1) There are three different playing surface designs included here; the third one (at about 2:21) has an Egyptian hieroglyphic board, for more advanced play.

(2) Unfortunately, the artists and titles of the tracks in the video are unavailable. This came from an educational audio tape on Egyptian culture, where the entire first side has the music labeled under a single heading of, "Music from Cairo."
