I sometimes get asked what size my model is.
The first time I got that question I thought people were interested in the amount of video memory, but it turned out that they wanted to know what scale they should think off.

This video is to demonstrate just how massive the model is in size.
1 Anim8or unit equals 1 centimeter.

  • vBus Works up to unlimeted Polys. Let me know how much Polys your Bus have and I'll say you how vBus will react :D

  • @DaPlatzi : My bus (the non-articulated version) now has 55200 faces (mostly four-point faces).

What about textures? Some are huge...

  • Yeah, but you can group the bus and rescale it by a special amount. Have you thought about converting this bus for the game vBus? I can helb you by doing that :) Would look quite nice, won't it?

  • @DaPlatzi : Grouping doesn't work. I think it's a flaw in Anim8or, but grouping objects doesn't really group the grouped objects when rescaling them (they jump out of location).

The only succes I have ever had was by Joining Solids, but that's inreversable.

I'm not sure what the maximum specifications for vBus are, my model is quite heavy for most game engines, but I'm interested none the less.

  • Sorry, but i think one anim8or unit is one meter, isn't it?

  • @DaPlatzi Well, Anim8or doesn't have a real scale, but using 1 anim8or unit for 1 meter would make working with centimeters pretty difficult because you would have to specify a grid snap size.

Now, working World coordinates, moving objects goes precisely per centimeter.

"Anim8or scales" can be interpreted any way, I know that my models are oversized for most game engines that probably require a model that's at least ten times smaller as it is now.
