  • I'm 54 also and I've been singing this to people my whole life! Those were some good days, life was simple and so was I!

  • My sister and I sing this to each other every birthday. Without fail. I didn't think it aired anywhere outside the Harrisburg/Lancaster, PA area. Was there syndication back then?

  • What a memory trip. I am from York and I haven't thought of this for decades.

  • The "group" was called The Singing Reindeer (Dancer, Prancer, and Nervous) - I have a 45LP of this song which I bought online. They also did a Christmas song called The Happy Reindeer Song -- google The Happy Reindeer - Top40db for details and lyrics.

  • @MrKipW That's interesting that you saw it in Denver. I've been trying to trace the origin of the song & video, and where it was played, but so far not much has come up. My friends in places outside of the Lancaster, PA, viewing area have never heard it. It sounds so much like Alvin & the Chipmunks.

  • I remember this song from the early 1960s, when one of the Denver kid shows used to use it. Sheriff Scotty? Not sure. I don't remember the animation, though. As far as my aging mind can recall, they had some hand puppets dancing and vaguely mouthing the words.

  • Thank you so much for posting this! I have had this song in my memory ever since I was a kid but couldn't remember who sang it or where I'd heard it. Found this video by Googling the lyrics and following a trail of clues on Facebook. Had a smile on my face the whole time I was listening. This brings back memories of being a little kid & growing up outside of Coatesville, watching Channel 8.

  • I used to love this song.....I live 80 miles above Lancaster and this was about the only channel we could get clearly back in those days...WGAL was great !

  • OH MY GOODNESS!! I'm 54 years old and I REMEMBERED THE WORDS!! Thanks for the memories! I LOVE THIS SONG!! Becky Wolfe Graham West York Class of 1974!!

  • When I was in the Brownies, our troop went to WGAL and was the audience during a Percy Platypus episode. Iremember one or two of my friends were on the set for the show. It was alot of fun. Thanks for posting this video !
