I try to run Everex's gOS on EEE PC. Just curious and its fun, because two of them are rival :)
The gOS (V2 beta)is running from 1GB SDcard. I used gOS liveCD to make this SDcard bootable.

  • @pinia1 It stands for good not green.

  • EEE FTW!!

  • gOS stand's for Green OS... it's linux.

  • gOS stands for "Good OS" not Google! its confusing because of all the google apps that come with it though... I think google should make an OS like this and not just a cloud OS because you can add cloud support to just about any computer without making it a cloud only system.

  • Ummm look at the date when I put my posting. And look at when the Google Chrome OS was released, also read up stories that even mentioned Chrome OS. Also read up stories about when Google was using Ubuntu internally. Yes they did have a internally used version of Ubuntu that was not available to the public because it had been leaked that they were. As for gOS, it's popularity was high when there was a rumor of the "google OS" some years ago, and that is what I was responding to.

  • @rofthorax first of al gOS has been around far longer that than google's os. And it isn't a skin you idiot! it is a complete os based on ubuntu! Ubuntu is based on debian, fedora is based on redhat. so if those two distros are based upon other systems are they just skins?

  • I completely agree, it is nothing like the Google Chrome OS. I run the build version (developer) for Google Chrome OS, this thing isn't great at all compared to the real deal.

  • What is the overall boot time form an SD card?

Does Wifi, sound, brightness, etc all work out of the box?

  • its not made by everex
