Because the mounting plate used in the Camzilla mount is designed for a camera with a bigger footprint than the ReplayXD, there are a number of holes in it for additional mounting options.

In the videos where I've used the Camzilla mount and the ReplayXD together, I've found some wind noise issues. While these are not too bad compared to some other cameras, I'm still keen to try to reduce the noise as much as possible, hence this experimental clip with a nice quiet car (stock v6 powered VE Commodore) on a quiet suburban street.

  • turns out it's not a wind noise issue I'm chasing.... it's a rattle... and it sounds like there's something loose inside the camera... it's very slight in real life, but when recorded, it's amplified... happens when the car shakes.... (and yet, it's ok 90% of the time on a blown methanol motor)

  • The Camzilla mount is overkill for the small size of the camera. The suction mounts made by Replay are very aerodynamic and don't case those kinds of wind noise issues.

  • @racerecall I do love the Camzilla mount though.. Will have to try a smaller mount one day and see how much better that is...
