Lawrence Hill's third book, The Book of Negroes (Harper Collins Canada 2007) was published as Someone Knows My Name in the USA, Australia and New Zealand. It won the 2008 Commonwealth Writers Prize for Best Book. A Canadian Bestseller, it was named one of the top books of 2007 by the Globe and Mail. Hills most recent non-fiction book The Deserters Tale: the Story of an Ordinary Soldier Who Walked Away from the War in Iraq (written with Joshua Key) was released in 2007 in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and numerous European countries.
