Jeremy Brett stars as the remarkable protagonist of Arthur Conan Doyle's novels.

  • Oh I do apologise if I will sound rude, but I'm quite tired of reading the same thing over and over; if you do not want to read spoilers, then for heaven's sake what are you doing reading the comments before watching? The comments are there to discuss the video: Of COURSE there may be spoilers! I apologise again, but the similar comments have become a real knot of hair.

  • @Midorikonokami Couldn't agree with you more, it's just common sense after all.

  • Wait... How did Elsie make a "complete recovery"? She shot herself through the head! Wouldn't she be a little brain damaged?

  • @phanpiggy A polish lawyer very recently shot himself in the head at point blank range and made a full recovery, so I think its possible but quite rare.

  • @gelert456 I suppose, but that's with modern day medical technology... I doubt anyone would survive a gunshot to the head back in the 19th century... So I'd say that Elsie would be screwed in real life:)

  • @phanpiggy fair point, but I suppose for the sake of the story a few alterations were made.

  • @CyeOutsider He doesn't seem rude to me; I would say practical and to the point. Holmes is a man about Logic and He doesn't like it when people tell him half a story. He likes all the facts to be put in front of him. :)

  • @phanpiggy I think there have been other cases of people surviving being shot in the head. It all depends on angle and I think, whether and where the bullet exits from. :)

  • @phanpiggy Knowing Watson... there might be a little chance for him to had, how do you say it? Sweeten the pill?

  • How wonderful! Spoilers in the top comment.

  • @GregHuismans yes that's why Slaney's sentence was reduced from hanging to life imprisonment.

  • I don't know why, in many of these episodes, Sherlock Holmes appears rude and unkind in his dealings with his clients, when this is not how he is in the short stories.

  • @phanpiggy - wow, spoiler alert!
