Investigative journalist Nir Rosen has just returned from Afghanistan, where he embedded with the Taliban and traveled far from capital city of Kabul, “Afghanistan’s version of the Green Zone.” He doesn’t think the US-led NATO occupation is winning in Afghanistan. His latest article for Rolling Stone magazine is “How We Lost the War We Won: A Journey into Taliban-Controlled Afghanistan.”

oooh... youre like half-brainwashed. the taliban did not fly the planes into the buildings. the taliban was pretty much the government (and those enforcing it) until 2001. now people that join it are mostly afghanis who believe its the right way of life. rosen even talks about how they're becoming more pragmatic and how its not so bad for people anymore. a large proportion of the population there would prefer them than the puppet democracy set up by the west anyways
