@SpartanCarlimus Linux is less demanding from your system than Windows 7. You could check the website of CodeWeavers and such (the people of Whine HQ etc. etc.) and do your own research on the games you specify. But I am quite sure you should be able to run Black Ops for example. It does run MW2 without problems... via Crossover Games I can play a lot of games! But, I'm not much into games any more - I do prefer a stable system, so I do stay on Linux ^_^ No more windows here...

You said you're playing HL2 and COD. I have black ops and team fortress 2 which are my main concern before I run a dual boot on my windows 7 ultimate machine. I have all the hardware requirements to run any Linux based OS but I'm just curious to know if there's an OS that'll play my games right outta the box after installation of course. I tried Ubuntu last year but gave up because I had to download way too many things just to run it and when it did it was horrible..Thank you.

Install Fedora, it rocks!

@MsPwain Yeah and you know what... I'm still on games like Half Life 2 or CoD MW2 for example! Who needs Windows? No more bleu screen here! No more crashes... And if something does crash (once a year or less?) it does not break down the complete system to a bleu screen for example.
