Just because the Constitution guarantees rights, doesn't mean that unjust practices won't manifest in employment, housing, education, etc.

The reason that laws exist which require equal pay for equal work is because of a history of unfair treatment of women in terms of pay. Laws which protect oppressed classes not only prevent harm to the individual, but also protects the entire community.

NOW accepts, even WELCOMES men as members. Real men support full equality in the workplace for women.

First of all Tancredo is the one that is racist and the Organization is not even called "La Raza" like that fool said. It is called the National Council of La Raza and it is a civil rights and advocacy organization that works to improve opportunities for Latinos.

But the Const protects us from unequal treatment FROM THE GOVT, not from individuals and businesses.

A racist business owner should be boycotted, but the Const. defends freedom of assoc., even for racists.

Equal pay for equal work only applies to govt jobs, not to the private sector.

There can be no harm to society, only harm to individuals.

Society must fight racism in private sector employment, housing, etc., not the feds.
