White House Telephone
During the course of this phone call, President Richard Nixon decides with his Attorney General John Mitchell to appoint William Rehnquist to the US Supreme Court. At the time, Nixon wavered between appointing Rehnquist and Senator Howard Baker (later the minority counsel on the Senate Watergate Committee). Nixon decides to go with Rehnquist because of his excellent record in law school and as a Supreme Court clerk for Justice Robert Jackson.
President Ronald Reagan later appointed Rehnquist Chief Justice.

Ive never heard so much silence on a Nixon conversation, at the beginning, he must have been thinking hard.
Rehnquist did get 1st at Stanford, so certainly no mediocre intellect.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Rehnquist was on Placydils from 1970 to 1989...so disregard all of his ( and his court of enablers) rrrullings and arrrgumentshh. His successor ( Cheif Roberts) is on poppers.
