Well then he probably just didn't want to say that. Considering he said that he went to the Mets to win. Which sounds pretty ridiculous. I would rather have Lackey over Bay now since I know he cares about winning above anything else.

it was his first offseason as a free agent and he was using his career high numbers from last year to get the most money he could. the red sox opted to spend that money on lackey instead of bay so he went to NY. simple as that

I know and he said that he said the reason he wanted to go to the mets is because he wanted to win. Last I checked the Red Sox were a winning team last year not the Mets. Seems to me that hes not to bright.

Bay has made some great plays out in left that have saved the game, and that manny never would've made. The Red Sox would have to be crazy not to give him a contract extension.

Jason Bay was definitely a better trade off for Manny...i'm not sure that Manny will even have a job turning down another Dodgers offer.

I think Jed Lowrie and Jason Bay is our new Red Sox Combination...b4 it was Ortiz-Ramirez and Pedroia-Ellsbury...Now,it's Lowrie-Bay...on their first debut Bay scored the 2 runs both in the 1st and 12th while Jed Lowrie was d one who got these 2 RBI's for his Sac Fly on the 1st and his Infield Hit on the 12th...and on other games they both keep on hitting back-2-back!I'm their biggest fan

They hit well together...but how long will Jed Lowrie stay after Julio Lugo comes back? I think they should just get rid of Lugo.
