How to fix that scary noise on your CBR bullet bike. It's a lazy timing chain tensioner that just takes a little tweak. If your bike is made from 1999-2003 and it makes a nasty engine noise that is linked to engine speed you can thank me now for making this video. My local Honda Dealer quoted me $800 to do this. It's not super easy, but neither is forking out $800!

  • how much work is it to replace a timing chain on a 1988 hurricane 1000 i was looking at a used one today bike runs good but i can hear than chain noise when you let off the trottle what is the price to replace one thanks

  • @macdaddy1600 It's astronomical if you do it by the book- over $1000 easy. If you cut the old chain split the new one and string the new one in and then re-link and weld/cut/polish it then it's not too bad to do or pay for.

  • I have a question

How long should I wait in terms of mileage or number of years to change my cam chain, and cam sprockets?

Assuming I am not redlining, and use it as a commute doing under 10,000 RPM all the time?

And any idea how much the engine should last me in terms of mileage? I want to be well prepared and saved up for another bike before that. Thanks a million for the Vid!

  • @zoeedarshad Mine takes adjusting every 6-7K miles and I treat mine the same. I've seen these engines go 100K+ miles if cared for. Many get destroyed around 50K miles if abused/neglected.

  • Hi. I have a question. I have honda cbr 600 f2. 1996. I had problems with charging, now i chained a stator, cause in rectifier where is these 3 yellow leads, in one of them wasn't any voltage, with new stator, in all 3 leads there is about 8v each. Should i buy new rectifier? Cause it's charging my batery too much. with big rpm charging more then 17V. Thnx mate

  • Little lost on this..you spin it clockwise, and then spin it back counterclockwise? I have f4 and not f4i but same thing I would suppose

  • @briansmobile1 thanks

  • Or you can spend the money for the ape manual cam chain tensioner and your set.
