The 1955 Fowler Shunter, No 4210108 is started up for the first time.
The loco used to work at the Leyland Motor works in Preston. However since the plants closure the loco has sat rusting away. Luckily the loco was donated to the Poulton and Wyre Railway Society.
For the last few months its members and volunteers have spent many hours working on the loco to get the engine to run for the first time in over 10 years.
Go to http://www.pwrs.org for more information or even to become a member of our society.

That babe's firing nicely... She sounds a little touchy, just take good care of her

@NZMantaGSi -Looking closely at the video you can see where the engine is jacked up at the rear using an RSJ, more than likely it is the same at the front end. "Could be wrong!!"

brilliant to see it running, for a good 8/9 years i worked for the caravan firm that was right at the side of this little shunter and as a very keen trainspotter in my youth i sometimes wondered what would be come of it , it used to remind me of when i would go to the Springs branch TMD in wigan spotting on sundays, well done to all who got her going again.
