I plan on buying this Wacom eventually, but for now I get by on the cheaper alternative. HP Touchsmart 300 ($700), Artrage Studio Pro ($60), and a paintbrush ($5). For under a grand, i have a setup that did away with my need for wacoms and photoshop and is still an exceptional pc. Coupled with a HP Touchpad, I can move my work with me from room to room. It's as natural as a working on paper or canvas.

@rabideyemovement Yes sure - I also work with Tablet PCs - that is a very good alternative to a PenDisplay - same technology. Its important that the "wacom" technique is included. But Tablet PCs have only 512 pressure levels.

@newarthh yes there is also a smaler one available. The 12WX is cheaper. Or you can use your IPAD, Tablet PC or any other Tablet for beeing creative ;)
