I used to wrestle with that question 20 years ago.
U have anxiety, it's not excitement because 1: you can't use it to your advantage, say your on the baseball team and your up next with two outs and 3 on..
Ex.2, say you are a confident street fighter and you know before hand some wise ass wants to kick your ass. But it's a few days away from the expected fight and the adrenaline is becoming unbearable. Had you had no time to think, it would be to your advantage. But thought messes you up.
u know what really helped me a book called from panic to power and it explains the difference from panic or fear and excitement it reall helped for me u should read it i highly recommend it
Exercise is an endorphin release that makes you feel good and stong, that and anxiety for me i can tell between the both. Maybe like everyone else i find it hard to exercise and eat good because of anxiety, and not feeling good because of it though. Good question!
I have O.C.D. which is a sever anxiety disorder, and I would say that if you feel overwhelmed and unable to concentrate and are having hand shakes and unable to sleep its anxiety.
Also, u don't enjoy your excitement, which is a normal thing. Most people enjoy some kind of excitement of some sort.
If you don't enjoy it, and it diminishes your ability to do what you are capable of doing, it's anxiety, plain and simple.

Its anxiety. Normal fear doesn't require meds.
