yes a simulator is a must. I just got myself a blade 400, and replaced the servos right away with hitek metal servos...im at the point where im about 8 feet off the ground, but i started just like you. Anyone who is being sarcastic about it hardly going up is a fool. THat is a good way to crash it when you are just starting out.

by far the best flying i have ever seen... mate, the heelicopter isnt meant to stay on the ground when flying, its supposed to go up...
