@emptyangel no The national Guard is issued the same uniforms as active duty or reserve components. we have Dress uniforms, they are called class A's.

the reason they are wearing ACU's is because since we are at war we are supposedly "ready to deploy" at anytime, and anywhere.that's why some if not most graduations from basic training wear ACU'S instead of Class A's.You notice our general always makes presentations in ACU'S?

Surely they would have at least Class A greens. ACUs are designed for a field/combat environment, as distinct from a ceremonial one. Hence, they will not, and should not, look "smart" for ceremonial occasions.

I guess it's because they're a National Guard band and that they don't have any other uniform?
I don't think the American Army has service tunics like the UK have, a general issue 'ceremonial' tunic issued to all regiments.

Army bands on parade should not be in ACUs. Really, it defeats the purpose of impressing the intended audience.

The thing about military bands on parade is, - people listen with their eyes.
So, if you look like a bag of sh*t, then to most people, you will probably sound like a bag of sh*t.

That was probably the worst show of an Army Band I've ever seen. I'm not bashing- them- they just need A LOT of work. The sad thing is- the appearence alone turned it off- I'm sure they could have sounded great- but if you look terrible- it takes more away from the performance.
