This is a Roland PICZA PIX-3 Touch Probe Digitizer. It has a Scan area of X152.4mm Y101.6mm Z40.65mm with a scanning pitch of 0.05mm to 5.00mm.
The touch probe sensor is a solid needle attached to a Pizeo tranducer. The Pizeo vibrates the needle at high frquency. The vibrations are stopped when the needle touches something and the sensor triggers the machine to stop and record it's X,Y,Z position.
It's called Dr.PICZA3 Ver 4.64
It's the digitizing software that Roland supply with the machine except I have installed the updates to 4.64
