I agree with them not being "headbanging" - you can never beat grados for rock music in general! My AKG's sound sublime with jazz or lighter rock though, nothing comes close! They needed a good pre-amp however, and a lengthy burn in time for my ears. Well worth the wait :)

I agree with the "Grados for Rock" statement. Honestly, I didn't really have the setup to truly power the AKG702's. But yes, Grados the headbanging headphones that I was seeking. The 702's have the largest soundstage I have ever heard from a full sized headphone, and exceptional instrument seperation. I think that's their greatest feature.

thanks for the review even though it may have not been your intentions, i now know that these headphones arent for me. honestly even though i know my car audio when it comes to headphones im a newbie and im having the hardest time trying to figure out what headphones would suit me best, 2 others i was looking at are the ath-m50 and a few of the sennheisers and beyerdynamic sets too.

These headphones should be burned in for over 100 hours... You can't just have them for 2 days and then turn around and sell them...
