in 2003 world cup, akram played 6 matches, took 12 wickets with avg. 16.75 and rpo 4.23 with best performance 28/5. an indian news paper had written that he is becoming better and better like an old wine. though waqar had been expensive. we have seen many match winner bowlers, but waqar had converted many defeats into victory. when he got rythem, it was almost impossible to face him.my dear friend, they both together were the best bowling pair after marsell and holding.

in the end of his carrier imran loosed his sharpness while akram had always been the best.Age does not matters for great players.

When he was in the ground and cameras were on him, screen always lit up ... he was a treat to watch ... no matter what he was doing, batting, bowling or fielding. When he first retired I as a kid was heart-broken and lost all my interest in cricket ... then he came back for World Cup ... I was still heart-broken because he came back temporarily and there was the shocker ... he brought world cup back home. All hails to Sir Imran Khan.
