'My Baby Loves Lovin' was a big hit for the group White Plains in 1970. The lead singer on that recording was the co-writer of the song, Roger Greenaway, with backing vocals by Tony Burrows. You could call this the 'alternative version' as it's performed by the same two singers, but this time as The Pipkins. The Pipkins was a UK children's TV show, and the best-known song that Roger and Tony did for that series was the hit 'Gimme Dat Ding'. An LP was released, and this track is from that album. Roger Greenaway is the high-pitched voice, and Tony Burrows is the low gravelly one. Both these guys had great voices and impressive vocal ranges. A great fun song!

  • Awful singing :-(

  • Great to hear this album on Youtube! It was given to me in 1971 because of my name (Pipkin) and I have always wondered where the group went. (apparently down the whole in the middle of the vinyl.

  • Okay, now I wanna hear the whole album again...I remember the last song on the album (Love, All You're Gonna Get From Me) where they joked about the end of the record and Kin said "Watch out for the hole, Pip, watch out for the-" and ya heard a scream and the album ended...they don't do fun stuff like that anymore, PLEASE RELESE THE ALBUM ON CD!!! I'll buy it!!!

  • My parents had the Pipkins' Gimme Dat Ding LP and I always wondered where on earth it came from.

  • I thought that Tony Burrows was the higher pitched singer because he is often credited as the lead vocalist on Gimme Dat Ding.

  • @billio0104 Only 4 of them at the same time , not 5. The First Class hit Beach Baby was from 1974 , the other 4 from 1970.

  • I thought Roger was the gravelly voice. I know they switched lead back and forth on some of their songs.

  • get a grip fellas, this is horrible.

  • A curiosity from an old shop, for sure

  • Tony Burrows was the lead singer of 5 groups at the same time....
