Underwater shot of the bottom of Phoenix. I am cleaning her hull for the haul out in Port townsend next week, april 7. The vessel has a 9.5' draft. draft is how deep a boat is in the water. She has 1,000 square feet of wetted surface area that I scrubbed with a 4" square scrub brush. wore me out. The vessel has not been out of the water in 5 years. I'll be scraping and repainting her and hopefully attaching the chainplates. I will also have the old masts removed to prepare for the new ones.

  • So, slowely it starts to get its shape :)

  • Yes, it is time I work on the hull.

  • That ship could be a "Chia Boat!" Lol! Then, of course the hard work begins in the top with the spars and everything in it.

  • that is a good idea. I could put a chia pet underwater with vaseline where I do not want growth. Make fuzzy aquarium heads.

  • Wow, that's a lot of work. Thank goodness you're a scuba diver, at least you can do all that stuff yourself instead of hiring someone.

    Hang on, you're getting there...
