Same music, different lyrics, the song "after her" soon became satellite. its certainly the satellite tune anyway.

  • great song.

  • I have always liked this version, it just puts a smile on my face and is a great tune to put on if you need something to put you in a good mood.

I understand why they needed to change the lyrics to what they are in Satellite; lines like, "with biggest steps I'm running, after her I will run", are just a little too awkward

  • I enjoy this song so much because Satellite is suppose to be a love song lol. I couldn't understand Dave when I first started listening. He has such a wonderful message!!! Though Satellite is such a good song this is a sweet and simple and that acoustic is perfect for a love song :) He is so incredible! So excited for Chicago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @thebaloonman yes. john mayer sounds like dave, not dave sounds like mayer. hate that little punk

  • @kvanzandt1967

john mayer sounds like this you mean

  • I could imagine Dave having an epiphany during the night at the studio and coming down at like 2 A.M. to record this song...

  • This song turned into satellite. Also it was one of the three songs dave used to get the band together.

  • this is the only dave matthews i've ever liked. ooold school. i used to have this, the stone, #40(always), and some others. hated all of the entire band cd's. as you can hear, the rhythms are very different.

  • @JaredB23 The progression of Satellite actually stems from a warm up exercise someone taught Dave. He changed the tempo and several notes to create the progression.

I like this version a lot.

  • beautiful version but..... sounds like John Mayer to me
