i got a 98 civic ex too its got the 1.6L SOHC D16Y8 VTEC...it just dont say it on the valve cover....the HX isnt a VTEC unless someone did a swap

i have a honda 1998 hx with a vtec transmission. i might sell it because i dont want a car with a vtec engine. they are very hard to find parts for and when u do they r very expensive. i thought ex doesnt have a vtec. they stopped producing them because repairing a bad v tech trans. is very difficult.

vtec isnt about the trans its about the valves..that has nothing to do with it.. haha and hx isnt as nice as the ex model different wing, power windows and shit...its not even my car and i know this...so u sure u got a civic haha
