@Aussie50 Everyone need their own air raid siren lol. I would like to see a 10kW one :) I could put one together using a fender bass cab speaker and head and a mp3 I have of an actual air raid siren coupled to a pair of 1kW Crown amplifiers, :-D

awesome, I'll have to make a shroud for mine and try it out. maybe an old aluminum saucepan would work if I cut and slot it to the right size.

i built one out of an old backpack blower and some sheet aluminum, it was LOUD!!! i had to get rid of it though, neighbors hated me lol.
i'm looking forward to more vids!

It won't burn, but in summer it may need extra cooling.
the slowing of the fans tells me if its overloading, then I move the workpiece around or limit the current flow.

I was building a home made air raid siren a few years back but couldn't get castings for the rotor and housing (I think it has a centrifugal fan rotor on it at the moment.)
I'll do an updated tour vid soon, I've changed a lot since I did the first one.
