This video is a mix of the Army Strong video produced by the army to entice young women and men to join the military. The other video is produced by Displaced Films which is a series of films produced for the
Iraq Veterans Against the War http://ivaw.org/wintersoldier
The series of films can also be seen here http://www.vimeo.com/5448532

The military has a budget of $459 million in advertising revenue which is the amount it spent in 2005. Please help us provide an honest picture of war by making a donation.

Here is further information from, David Zeiger who requested we include the following information.

Hello Cindy and All,

I am so happy that you used episodes from our series, This is Where We Take Our Stand, for your Army Strong video. It's incredibly powerful, and getting out to a lot of people. You did a great thing with it, and this is what the series is for.

I have a very important request, though. Please make it much more clear on your site and in the piece that the material is from the web series This is Where We Take Our Stand, and that the entire series can and should be seen at http://thisiswherewetakeourstand.com/ There are still two episodes that will be posted this monday and in two weeks, and then the entire series will be available as a single piece as well.

First of all, it's important that people see the whole series. But along with that, it's been a tremendous struggle to get the story made and told, and we are still in the midst of trying to get the funds to complete a television film as well. So it is crucial that both the name of the series and the people who made it be very prominent whenever it is used. It's also important to include that it is from the people who made Sir! No Sir! I'm sure you understand all of this.

We are linking Army Strong to http://thisiswherewetakeourstand.com/, and will do what we can to help get it out there.

Thanks, Cindy,
David Zeiger

The testimony and video of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans shown here is taken from "This is Where We Take Our Stand," a web series that tells the story of the Winter Soldier Investigation held by Iraq Veterans Against the War. Watch and help spread the whole six-part series at http://www.thisiswherewetakeourstand.com. "This is Where We Take Our Stand" was created by David Zeiger (Director, "Sir! No Sir!") and produced by Displaced Films and Northern Light Productions.

  • The video has done it's job then. Please pass on the success stories as we would love to see or hear them. The few sad stories are very real, they are not just a few sad stories. The word "story" can be abstract but the contents are real and very sad. Very sad because they are real and this is something that you feel. It seems your natural feelings are alive and well.

  • War...War Never changes. Be it the battles from Americas birth. To the battles in main streets of Iraq. There are hard and sad times. The news only focuses on the bad stuff. Truth be told there isn't that much soldiers suffering from PTSD. I've done things that are even more hard then what these men talk about. Yet I keep my head up. A soldier is made for battle and to do battle is to be strong both body and mind. Those men there talking are not SOLIDERS.

  • @cmarmor these men served our army . how can you call them un-american.i bet you are some fatass redneck who talks shit about veterans who dont support your views.i bet you were were never in the military witch means that you should shut the hell up and let the smart people do the talking

  • join up to be the strong-arm drone for a tyrannical goverment... at least you get good benefits

  • they should of joined the coast guard..

  • @TenchiSanada and if u really did do worse things overseas and u brag about it like its no big dig whats the difference then them talking about killing innocents and mourning on it? i guess since u were the tough guy that thought it was cool what u did that makes u the soldier and them not one? yall both did bad things except they talked about it so now there pussys? im a little lost with ur whole "WAR" quote

  • @TenchiSanada every single one of them are soldiers. we all have a right to a decision man. they just told there story of the bad things they did. if u werent such a "badass soldier" ud understand that. truthfully they went and fought. and if ur telling the truth about going over seas (just saying) and u did stuff that was worse then these "non soldiers" what does it matter? it doesnt make u a better soldier broseff.

  • @TenchiSanada Don't behave like the hard guy, you cunt

  • F-ing anti military liberal wingnuts! Go hug a tree and move to France, we don't want or need your kind here.

  • Fucking stupid as hell. You guys really need to get your facts straight instead of this bullshit. Yes vets need better help but don't put out false information to get what you want.

  • Last time congress declared war was in 1941 for world war 2

  • LOL life was good for the iraqis before, under saddam? Well that is definitely news to me and I'm sure the unmeasurable number of people who were tortured and killed under his leadership.... I agree soldiers need better treatment after serving, but this video is misaimed propaganda.
