Yeah, because private violence doesn't exist now. And the state really solves the problem. (sarcasm) Did you know that sane people only commit bad actions such as stealing due to environmental factors such as the economy (stealing to survive)? And without the government repeatedly raping the economy with brutish tactics such as bailouts, the then free market would create prosperity and reduce people being forced into crime. Of course, you would have crime but the police rarely stop crime, ...

...they just catch the criminal and submit him to vengeance in a little concrete box (not real justice). A free market justice system would offer real justice to the victim, not punishment for victimless "crimes" such as, hmm... tax evasion. You also underestimate the power of social stigma, eg. refusing custom to a known criminal.
