Emetophobia is the surprisingly common fear of being sick or vomiting. Here Seymour Segnit the Founder of CTRN: Change That's Right Now explains a little of how they can help you.

  • does this actually work?

  • For lots of people it really does. The mind creates these 'links' that trigger the bad feelings and we teach people really cool techniques (originally developed at the University of California ) for breaking these links

  • Dammit! Everybody who says "Yes, we have the answer!", you have to pay for the help! What about a 17 year old like me who's had the phobia for 14 years and has no money? Why? Because I can't hold down a job with my freaking anxiety. Yes, I've done therapy. Coping skills help slightly, but it has not improved my quality of life. My first day of senior year is tomorrow and I'm all but panicking over my nausea. Where's this miracle help for people who can't buy it or travel to get it?? I'm upset.

  • He doesn't seem to be concerned with the problem at all. Look at him with is ugly smile. It really doesn't make me want to throw my money away.

  • And by the way 1:30 No, I don't know that feeling =/

  • Just tell me what it is! Like the top comment I too have a rediculously hard time holding down a job. Let alone even leaving my house! I've had Emetophobia since I was about 9 or 10. Well I'm 20 now and it's only gotten much worse over the years. I've done CBT countless times and many other types of therapies like groups, in-patient etc. It seems impossible to overcome and this is the worst time to have it (winter). Gahh someone direct me to a place where I can get FREE help -.-

  • Hmmm I'm a bit sceptical about this... Yes emetophobia can definitely be overcome, but he doesn't even say what kind of therapy it is! And I definitely don't agree with audio books - how can listening to a recording of someone let you overcome something that completely controls your life?! You can't ask questions or talk about things that are worrying you.. No thank you. I'll stick to my NHS therapy for now!
