This is a quick overview video of exactly how I replaced my stock (wimpy) horn on my '97 Sportster with a pair of Hella Supertones. I show you what the stock horn sounded like, go over how I managed to mount it, and then play you a side-by-side comparison of how the two sound.

what did you use to test your stock horn in this video? My speedometer is ground to my horn I disconnected it (the horn) to see if I could get my horn to work and when I mounted the horn to the bike and plugged the ground wire to the horn the speedometer no longer lights up...do you have any suggestions as to how to solve my problem?

@MrObserver1847 I just had a spare 12VDC transformer sitting around. I'm a bit of a nerd, so I keep all of my old power transformers, as you never know when one will come in handy. If you have something that will handle about an amp or so of 12VDC, it should handle it for you.

If you're anywhere near Sacramento, CA I can give you one :)

thanks for the response, I bought a meter reader from walmart...however I did not use it. I was more concerned about my Dakota Digital speedometer performing so I took the ground wire from the horn and attached it to the battery and now it works...well it still will not show my miles per hour, but every other indicator is functioning. thanks for the offer on the transformer I am on the other coast. take care keep riding.
