Just checked him out and as of 11/11/11 he's 1848 in the world Amateur rankings so not quite the next Ben Hogan yet is he
-
The next Ben Hogan....in a word, NO
-
That swing is missing many elements hogan had in his swing.
-
You might swing like him, doesnt mean you play like him! Anyone can shoot 66-do it 4 days in a row then maybe
-
He pulled it brutally, + 3.5 hcp in my ass!
-
please stop comparing yourself with Ben Hogan
-
completely chunked that one. Hit a few inches behind the ball and sounded terrible
-
PLUS 3.5?? That means he averages 68.5 on a course rated at 72, right? Is that what you are saying? And, @samimalmstrom, who's this Marcel Siem who regularly shoots 65? Some fishy posts going on around here.
Oh, and the shot in the video is fat. Watch the ball/divot at impact. Plus you can hear it.

Not quite ben hogan.
In the follow through, Alex's clubface has rotated massively through the hitting area See how the clubface is pointing at the ground or even slightly target-wards when he's 3/4 of the way into his follow through.
Check out ben hogan at this point, you can see most of the clubface.
Alex's swing relies a lot more on timing the hands than Hogan's, dont jinx him by comparing him to Hogan.

that was so fat.
He keeps getting better, need to post a more current video. Hittem' straight!

All the talk about handicap is a bit over done these days. Alex is a great player! I have seen them all. However, no one ever conquered the world until they were at least.... 21? Long way to go. Keep those cards and letters coming.

Next month I will post slow-motion video of him hitting a driver. You will never believe what you are seeing. Look forward to your comments. All the best. BL

Thanks for the comments. I know Marcel Siem and I can tell you Alex is in a different league. I, his coached, coined the phrase. This kid has all the tools. He is also an A student in school. I start at day one with the mental game. To me it is more important than anything, provided a person has talent. I coach some of the best amateurs in the world and I have never seen anything like this kid, anywhere! His swing is constantly improving and we never stop working on the mental side.

Thanks, the amazing thing is, he just keeps getting better. I have made good progress on his setup, which has lead to loading up his right side better. This allows him to push the butt of the club longer through the ball. Consequently, his lead hand/arm rotates better causing even better ball flight. When it gets above 0 here..., I will also post some Drivers, that is where it gets really incredible. Thanks again

Son, you need some glasses. That one is still going. Believe me, I was standing there watching him rip on after another, and that was at 2 degrees Celcius. Nice try!!
