Matt Bomer Accepts Award, Mentions His Family

"White Collar" actor Matt Bomer was given the New Generation Arts and Activism Award from the Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards for his work in the fight again HIV/AIDS. In his acceptance speech, he said, "And I'd really especially like to thank my beautiful family: Simon, Kit, Walker, Henry. Thank you for teaching me what unconditional love is. You will always be my proudest accomplishment."

Being a woman, I felt quite sorry when I first heard that Matt is gay, because I think he's absolutely gorgeous!

However, I am very very happy for him, he seems like a lovely person and I very much admire his strength of character.

I think it's disgusting that he's been losing movie roles based on his sexuality. To me, he is a fantastic actor (I was surprised to find out that he's gay) and he should have every opportunity that a straight actor has. How is it fair that straight actors can play gay roles, but not the other way around? Reading Fifty Shades, he was always what I envisioned Christian to be, and even as a straight woman who has never met him, I admire him greatly for his talent, bravery and strength xx
