  • Green cleaners dont work. Mineral spirits are best and you can filter MS over and over again to recycle. Microbe stuff is a joke. But you do have a nice set up. I built mine from all spare parts also it works great.

  • @JoezVendetta I agree, the microbes do not seem to work well. I am using ZEP Merado cleaner. It is water based, bio-degradable (somewhat corrosive) mixed 4:1 (strong) cost is about $14 for a gallon of concentrate. POR15 Marine Clean and KB Aqua clean are equivalent water based. Mineral spirits is too volatile for me. Thanks

  • What can you tell about the microbes, do they really work?

  • After a year the solution got pretty dirty and I was unable to filter it so I replaced it with ZEP Moroado for about $15. This is a biodegradable cleaner and seems to clean much better. I will use the remaining microbes in the ZEP solution.

I do not know if these expensive microbes actually worked.

  • Very nice! You've given me a lot to think about.

  • The high alkalinity of the ZEP will kill the bugs - the ZEP may be bio-degradable but the grease and oil are not. Clean water act prevents discharge of the used ZEP.

  • thanks....I will be building this soon...

  • too cool, gotta try this
