I don't understand the US and Canada... here in Norway police never carry weapons unless it's prooven that a suspect is armed, that way there's a lot less chance of shooting someone just for kicks like some policemen do i the US and Canada. when is the weapons gonna dissapear from the streets? everyone can be friends if they try hard enough.

@novinitedotcom You're getting mixed up with Australia; the US was a place to which people imigrated in hopes of better prospects due to cheap land and an abundance of resources. Australia, on the other hand, was once a giant penitantiary for the UK :D

Such language vedder70 - are you ten? His mother mistakenly told him to stay at the luggage carousels. For int arrivals those aren't open to the public. If he was this unfit to travel a) why did immigration let him in to join our welfare ranks? b) why didn't she have an adult travel with him?

The police didn't kill him - he killed himself. I bet his mother never thought he'd make her rich!

The US was a place where the English sent their most dangerous criminals. When they started living in America, they had to protect their land and themselves from other criminals. That's why security and the right to self-defense are held holy. In Europe most people live in cities, in the US, there are many small towns. To deter criminals from pillaging them, people are armed to the teeth. Otherwise, it would be like Eastern Europe or South Africa where farmers are murdered without consequences.

The first thing Dziekanski did when he arrived in Vancouver was to throw chairs and computers around. As an immigrant from Europe I am glad that violence and disorder is not tolerated in Canada. If Dziekanski had behaved, he'd be alive today.

Unlike Canada, in Europe violent criminals are tolerated by the police. This man obviously thought he could act like he was in Europe and paid with his life.
