Dave Ramsey's Baby Steps begin with the end in mind: To live a life of generosity and significance. After journeying with your family from bondage to freedom, you can pay that achievement forward into the lives of others.

  • since you closed the comments under the original video -here's my comment. This is SUCH an American attitude. If you DO NOT HAVE MONEY you CAN NOT buy it, not go on vacation, etc. I am still learning that myself - have never been in debt more than 500€ but addicted to shopping - but think about it, doesn't it make a lot of sense?? When family or friends do not support, they haven't really understood how good it is for you.

  • @amyyyamy Couldn't keep up with all the great comments folks were posting. Thanks for stopping by. You're exactly right, by the way. If you don't have money, you shouldn't be buying things. Unfortunately, many people realize that after the fact.

  • @lukascoaching Don't get me wrong, I spent money I didn't have all the time. But didn't you recomment the very opposite in the other video? Going on vacations, etc. ?

  • @amyyyamy we were referring to the folks who beat up their spouses with "Dave Says". They steamroll them and end up doing it on their own. Working together in a marriage means both spouses are on the same page when it comes to getting out of debt.

  • I've watched both. I also love the baby steps. However, I don't like the part where you said "who can go 10 or 12 years without a vacation?....." I listen to Ramsey's show almost daily, and I would estimate 97% of the "debt-free snowball" callers paid everything off in under 3 years. Its important to treat being in debt as the gazelle running from the lion. Does the gazelle stop to nibble on grass while trying to escape? No. Children do what feels good. Adults devise a plan & follow it.

  • @waiting4guffman We certainly teach 2-3 years as well. Most people who don't follow a program will take much longer. Totally on board with you!
