Here is a video diary of a couple of my excursions to Montana to fish our upper Ruby River property. I feel very fortunate, as this is a place that my father had the foresight to invest in a couple of decades ago. The river has an abundance of wild trout including native cutthroat, hybrid cutbows, and rainbows. Mountain whitefish are plentiful and browns and grayling are also fairly common. The river is extremely fertile, long winding oxbows lead to nice straight riffles that provide excellent spawning habitat for the many species who live here. The wildlife in the area area is remarkable. Moose, bald eagles, beavers, mink, osprey, white tail and mule deer all call this river bottom home. It is truly a magical place.

  • You're right I was alone. That's why my head is chopped off half the time. Awesome place to fish when it is too hot to hunt!!! Thanks for watching.
