The benefits of allowing these fish to clean you, and not eat them, is that it becomes easier to find fish willing to clean your teeth. Imagine if you constantly wanted a haircut, but after the barber gives you a haircut you refuse to pay... you would constantly be looking for new barbers, and this takes more time and effort than simply paying.
