  • The only other director i can think of in the same class as Douglas Camfield for directing in classic Doctor Who is Graeme Harper. Superb clip, good music the daughter's dialogue exposition is a bit clunky though!

  • I made the same point on my blog, which is why I uploaded it in the first place!

Check the "Links" above for the entry.

  • The shining!

When i was watching 'The Shining' with my friends for the first time I cried out. 'This exact music was in doctor who in 1968.' They looked at me and were like. 'What a freak.'

I was right! Awesome! The Web of Fear was truly an awesome story.

  • Who needs 'Z' list comediens trying to play it straight and digital effects for Dr Who when you can get quality stories like this? FABULOUS stuff! Many thanks for uploading it.

  • The Same music is used in the Shining. It is the same music. It doesn't just sound like the same music it is the same music. Question is who pinched it

  • The Troughton era absolutely terrified me as a 9-year-old. Never quite got over it!

  • @royaltenenbaum23 TOTALLY Agree. If THE GREAT INTELLIGENCE and THE YETI ever make an appearance in the NEW SERIES, Graeme Harper HAS to be DIRECTOR...And the story should be a 3-parter EPIC like the last two GI/YETI stories. )D

  • It was rather disappointing that the yeti was just a robot and not a real monster

  • The music is by Hungarian composer Bela Bartok : Music for strings, percussion and Celesta (Movement III). It has been very much used on radio, film and TV.

  • I don't like Jack Watling's characterisation or performance in this - it's plain OTT.

  • Web of Fear is not just one of the best Pat Troughton stories among such classics as 'The Invasion' and 'The War Games', but one of the best Doctor Who stories of all time, introducing the Brig as a Colonel and what not.

  • I was born when this story was transmitted. Wish the other episodes exit on tape but sadly not. This is one of my favorite Dr Who stories.

  • They animate the missing episodes... Or all of it.

...it might be fun to see.
