David Cameron's German Accent Joke mocking Labour and ID cards.

ALL RIGHTS RESERVED BY ITN - NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED

Conservative leader David Cameron's polished public image took a battering when he put on a mock German accent when explaining his opposition to ID Cards.
During a question and answer session in Norwich he adopted an accent last heard on an episode of 'Allo 'Allo and said: "Where are your papers?"
A woman in the audience raised her hand and asked him: "I wonder about the wisdom of you adopting a German accent?"
Mr Cameron told her: "It was meant to be light-hearted."
Earlier one questioner had criticised Mr Cameron's decision to align the Conservatives with a right-wing Polish party in the European Union.

  • I love the way he steps forward on 00.10, getting ready to crack his crappy racist joke. He can't wait!

  • @JimmyMc1979 - Haha, good spot

it's the pronounciation of "where". he says "vere are your papers" which makes it sound german.

pretty embarassing for an elected official though.

  • Papers please! You lot nned to grow a pair of testicles, it's a joke.

  • I agree. It's very primitive too. Cameron is an embarassment.

  • So ....not many of you have seen Idiana Jones: The last crusade.

  • @robsargent4: There are some rather unique Bavarian sports, like “Fingerhakeln” and “Braxen”. Apart from that, there seem to be many similarities, there’s even a Scottish-Bavarian version of the Highland Games:

Just search for “Schottisch-Bayrische Highland Games”

    :D

  • @albedoshader Ah, yes. Does Germany have any equivalent of a Highland Games?

  • @robsargent4: Lol, yeah. I’m thinking of the speech melody of Scottish dialects, not the clothing. Btw, I had great fun watching the Highland Games, back in 1995 or so. Caber tossing was definitely something new to me, especially while sitting next to the athletes. :) At least the sports have a kind of “Bavarian” style. ;)

  • @albedoshader Well we don't wear Lederhosen (although I'm sure most Bavarians don't either), but a lot of us are fond of our beer & my Dad apparently looks like a stereotypical Bavarian, so there's definitely a similarity.
