The Mayfair Set is a series of programmes produced by Adam Curtis for the BBC, first broadcast in the summer of 1999.
The programme looked at how buccaneer capitalists of hot money were allowed to shape the climate of the Thatcher years, focusing on the rise of Colonel David Stirling, Jim Slater, James Goldsmith, and Tiny Rowland, all members of The Clermont club in the 1960s. It received the BAFTA Award for Best Factual Series or Strand in 2000.
The opening episode, Who Pays Wins, focuses on Colonel David Stirling.
@verbusen I'm afraid I disagree. I believe that the "leftists" are by their very nature bad. The extreme left (Communists) Socialism which is so very often exploited as a mask for extremists.
As for the right Conservatism (I think would have been better) and extreme right Fascists which are just as bad as the Communists.
As for the Liberals I would class them as just as Socialist as Labour at the time.
(How different that is today!)

Wait this part is happening in the mid 1960's under a Labour government and the US is run by the Democrats at this time (mid 1960's) so I guess the only good leftists are the Communists? No they were selling their arms to Egypt who was threatening the Saudi's, wow when you think about it, EVERYONE IS BAD! But no, it's all the right wing's fault, LOL!
