On March 10, 2009 the Committee on the Judiciary held a hearing on H.R. 848, the "Performance Rights Act."

Before posing questions to witnesses, Congressman Sherman bonded with Corgan over their similar hairstyle. "I want to thank you for the effect youve had on American culture," Sherman said to Corgan, known for his perpetually shaved head. "Now when people see a bald guy, they think rock star."

Corgan replied, "Sir, youre not completely bald."

Sherman responded: "I'm not completely a rock star."
