Peewee basics, don't cut through the middle. Players have been thinking that the new rules will protect them and, for that reason, aren't feeling like they need to protect themselves. Letang decided to put his head down and shoot instead of protecting himself, he knew Pacioretty was there. There will be penalties and suspensions dealt for hits to the head but in the end we're talking about potential career ending consequences and players need to learn to protect themselves they way they used to.

@canadianguy009 well, you see, with Chara, it was just a bad spot on the ice, if that hit took place at any other spot, Pacioretty would have gotten up 3-4 seconds later and have been fine (added a few seconds seeing as he plays for Montreal and they live to embellish and dive)

Pacioretty whined and whined after the Chara hit. What a flake. Hey Montreal, where is the big huge pointless investigation into this hit, huh??

That looks like Letang leaned forward before the hit. Can you really blame Pacioretty when it was Letang who willingly put his head in the line of fire in the first place?
Rather than just punish the players that deliver these hits, the NHL should "reward" the players who receive these hits with better helmets. Like cages...
