Hi Ed! For smaller fish, use the OR4 (white) or OR3 clips by offshore tackle. They have a lighter release for smaller fish. For an easier release on the OR1 (black) bring the line closer to the front of the release.
The offshore tackle releases can be adjusted by moving the sping further back as well.
You can also use smaller diameter braded line that slides through the release better. I use an emmory board to file down the release clip rubber when all else fails.. Great question ed..thx!
Chris, I've been using these Planer Boards for 3 years now and I love them. I live about 1/4 mile from Rock Lake here in Southern Wisconsin and these boards have really helped me catch alot more fish. I still have a problem getting the board to release from the front clip when I get a fish on. Maybe you have a suggestion on what I need to do to get it to let loose. Plus I'd like to know more about the boards you use for crappies! Thanks again for sharing your knowledge! Sincerely, Ed...
Thank you very much =) Please let me know if there are any uses of this board that you would like tried. I am looking for suggestions and ideas on future Planer Board videos.
